Secondary Resource Planning
Overview¶
Secondary Resource planning means there are multiple resources being using in creating the products. Some production methods use more than one resource e.g. a production line and labour
Setup¶
To incorporate multi-resource planning, you need to include multiple resources in the production methods. Below shows an example of "LABOUR" Resource as well as the "LARGE MULTI-BAG PACKING 5" line being used to create BEEF LARGE SINGLE in a production method.
You need to use the multi resource constraint as part of the constraint profile used when running the scenario. Below is an example of a constraint profile for a multi resource scenario.
DEPENDENT_RESOURCE_CAPACITY is set to a hard constraint in the profile. It means that the final product/group cannot be created without the labour resource being available.
Output¶
The example above creates a solution which is constrained by both line capacity and labour capacity
Below shows the capacity utilisation heat map for all resources.
